Hello there, Lovely! Welcome to my website and blog. I must admit, this whole adventure is quite scary to me right now. So THANK YOU for being here!
I wanted to start out by giving you all a little information about me. I'm sure you're wondering who I am and why you should read/follow/work with me. I certainly don't blame you! So let's get to it, shall we!
Like many people, I decided to start my own online freelance business to escape the daily 9-5 gig. Working all day for little money and making someone else rich is not how I envisioned my life. Actually, it is how I envisioned my life. 😳 But I realized recently, that it is not at all what I wanted my life to be.
I had a good, work-from-home job that paid well. But I was stuck at my desk all day during the hours they set for me, answering questions and putting out fires, making someone else tons of money. After 3 years of that (plus 12 previous years in retail customer service), it was time for a change. So I quit. On a whim. And here I am.
It was one of those moments where I had to take a look at myself and what I enjoyed doing to decide what my next move would be. Did I want to find another regular, steady job that I may like for a
while, then hate? Heck no! I decided to put all my computer skills and passions to work! I wanted to start my own online, freelance virtual assistant business where I could help other online entrepreneurs build their businesses. You know, handle the tasks that I enjoy, but a lot of creative folks cringe about spending their time doing.
And Dreaming Dragonfly was born!
Dragonfly because when I was deciding to make this change in life, nearly every time I took my dog out, there would be TONS of dragonflies flying around my apartment. And the day I had my first interview with I my first virtual assistant client, I was out with some friends and a dragonfly landed on my shoulder. And then I read...
The dragonfly, in almost every part of the world symbolizes change
and change in the perspective of self realization; and the kind of change
that has its source in mental and emotional maturity and the
understanding of the deeper meaning of life.
And it seemed absolutely fitting. Scarily so! So I went with it. Because this has been the biggest change I've ever made in my life. And I could use any sign or symbol that I made the right decision that I can get! 😉 So as I sit here watching this afternoon Florida storm roll in, thank you for being here and for giving me the chance to make your entrepreneurial life a little easier!
