My Favorite Books for Entrepreneurs, Business, and Mindset
If there’s one thing I’ve learned since starting my own business, it’s that you 100%, without a doubt, have to keep learning. You might think you know all you need to know to keep your business going.
You don’t.
So this week, I wanted to do something a little different and share with you my five favorite books for entrepreneurs, business, and mindset.
I’ve always loved to read, but never really got into books for personal development. Cue all the fiction. But since I started my own business and began learning about just how important mindset is, I can’t stop reading personal development books.
So whether you’re just starting your entrepreneurial journey, are a seasoned veteran, or are just dabbling in personal development, I hope you find authors and teachers that speak to you and make you crave more. Like these folks did for me.

You Are A Badass At Making Money - Jen Sincero
This book is so much fun. Jen uses her sense of humor and powerful words to light a fire in me every time I read this book. The fact of the matter is, you ARE a badass. And if you ever have any doubts about that, which we all do, and you need someone to kick your butt a little, this is the book for you. She tells it like it is and makes you want to get off your ass and get to work because you have no excuses.
The Universe Has Your Back - Gabrielle Bernstein
This is magic in a book. I’m not even kidding. If you’re a little spiritual, a lot spiritual, or not even a little bit at all, you’ll get something out of this book. I feel and experience major shifts in my life every time I read this one. She walks you through exactly how to notice life’s little tests so you can recognize them, deal with them, and move along. Noticing repeating stories in your life (always broke, crappy relationships, etc) this will help you work your way out of those cycles once and for all.
Girl, Stop Apologizing - Rachel Hollis
Of course I can’t complete this list without my girl, Rach. Seriously if you haven’t listened to her, go look up her podcast. Right now. It doesn’t matter what you need to hear, she tells it like it is and doesn’t take no for an answer. Even if you don’t like her method of teaching, looking at her success story and how far she’s come is inspiration enough.
I was fortunate enough to attend the Hollis Co. Rise Business event last November. It. Was. Fire. Rachel and her team have SO MUCH to give and they leave it all on the table with a passion few others truly share.

The One Thing - Gary Keller
I need to read this one again. Seriously. Do you know how hard it is to stick to working on only one thing? For me, it’s nearly impossible. This book is a game changing tool for not only why you need to focus on your one thing, but also HOW.
And as dry as that sounds, this book is light and funny. It’s super easy to read with tons of tidbits to walk away with as soon as you finish the chapter.
High Performance Habits - Brendon Burchard
I don’t know about you but I struggle with habits. Wiping out the bad ones and creating new ones. But the truth is if you want to be successful, you have to have the right habits. This book walks you through the 6 habits high performers share, where you stand with your current habits, and how to improve them. Plus Brendon is funny and personable so it’s a fun read!
I’ve had the opportunity to see Brendon speak live twice. And he is phenomenal. Fun, funny, and full of life. He practices what he teaches and it shows.
Profit First - Mike Michalowicz
Okay yes the title of this post says top 5 books but I had to throw this one in there as a bonus. Because if you have a business this book is a GAME CHANGER. I WISH I had this when I first started out, nearly 4 years ago. Seriously. I can’t stress that enough.
Business finances are no joke and you don’t want to find yourself in a pot of hot water. This book explains business finances clearly. It’s so easy to understand that I’m pretty sure you’ll be asking why you were making it so difficult in the first place.
Well, I’m off to get my read on! Drop a comment below and tell me which book you’ve read, loved, or are picking up next!
