How to Send Subscribers to a Thank You Page from a Squarespace Form

I RECENTLY WROTE AN UPDATED VERSION OF THIS BLOG POST. YOU CAN FIND THAT RIGHT HERE. THIS VERSION STILL WORKS, BUT THE NEW POST HAS VIDEO! :)

I recently wrote about how to link a Squarespace button to a ConvertKit form. You can read about that here!  Or you can the more updated version of it (with video!) right here!

In a lot of cases, I know we would rather send our new sign ups to a personalized thank you page, rather than just a generic "We received your email" message, amiright?

Since the link up between Squarespace and ConvertKit is a little tricky, setting up the thank you page redirect can be too. So I wanted to share with you the steps I took to set that up!

Let's get started! First you'll want to sign into your Squarespace account and head over to Pages.

*I'd like to note here that these steps are provided that your thank you page has already been created and has a specific URL.*

Next, you'll want to go to the cover page that contains your sign up form button Here, I'm using the sign up page I use for my Virtual Assistant Library.

Go to the Action section. This is where you originally set up the Form that links back to ConvertKit.

Click edit form. (See, not so difficult, right?! 😉)

In the window that pops up, click Advanced in the top right corner. Now you'll see a section called Post-Submit Message. This is the message seen as soon as the submit button is clicked. I recommend personalizing this and letting people know that their email is on the way!

Just below that, is a section called Post-Submit HTML. This is where you'll enter a tiny little bit of code that will redirect to your thank you page. Enter the following code into that box (changing the appropriate text to your thank you page URL) and click save! That's it!

<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; url=http://YOUR THANK YOU PAGE URL HERE" />

See, that wasn't so difficult was it? Now when someone signs up through your form, they will see the Post Submit thank you message and then be redirected automatically to your thank you page.

Ah-mazing! Be prepared to dazzle, my dear!

Until next time!  💜

xx,
Delana
